Data Breach Analysis

Wakanim, a streaming service focused on anime content, serves a niche entertainment market. Breaches here can lead to unauthorised access to user subscriptions and viewing habits, which risks subscriber privacy and could potentially disrupt service credibility.

Coin Tracker operates in the financial technology sector, providing cryptocurrency portfolio management. A breach in this area is particularly concerning as it may expose sensitive financial data, increasing risks of fraud and targeted attacks on users’ digital assets.

Mamba is a social networking platform, where leaked data could include personal details, communication records, and preferences. Such exposure not only impacts individual privacy but may also affect employer trust if users utilise these platforms professionally.

The inclusion of Russian Travel Companies, though anonymous, highlights vulnerabilities within the travel industry, where customer data such as travel itineraries and payment details are at risk. This exposure can lead to identity theft and financial losses, affecting both travellers and the companies themselves.

People BPO, an outsourcing business process company, adds another dimension by involving corporate data and employee information. Breaches here could impact both employees and clients by compromising confidential business data and potentially disrupting outsourced services.

Spotlight

Another crypto tax software has suffered a data breach. We've already seen users affected take to Reddit to discuss the situation. They have reported receiving various phishing attempts since the leak happened. Soon after, the company sent out an email to it's customers regarding the breach, unfortunately this was after the comments on reddit had appeared.

An American social networking site that was founded in 1995 has suffered a data breach. The social networking site was created to help classmates and fellow students from all levels of education, as well as members of the US military, find each other. The data breach happened several years ago but is now available for free and publicly, more than 2.5 million email addresses as well as full names and physical addresses are available publicly.

An infamous ransomware gang has been very busy recently; they are currently extorting a French sports retailer. The data breach includes various datasets, including allegedly passport information and the gang has posted a "proof sample" of the data on their 'vegetable' site. However, the site seems to be experiencing some issues possibly due to the influx of users trying to obtain the data.
