A total of 9 breaches were found and analysed resulting in 215,533,694 leaked accounts containing a total of 12 different data types. The breaches found publicly and freely available included Twitter (3), Andersen, Euro Shop, D'Katia and Mega Trader Forex. SPOTLIGHT

First up, an independent US financial services firm that started in 2002 and quickly became one of the largest tax firms in the world has been breached. The company has over 390 offices across 170 countries throughout the world. A range of information was leaked, such as usernames, hashed passwords, and other various datasets.

A professional banking association in India has also taken a hit with a breach that contained a large range of datasets. We haven’t seen any mention of the breach but maybe they’ve let their clients know privately.

And then there was Twitter. We know the data was gathered following abuse of their API. We also know the data was limited to information publicly displayed by each user, so on the face of it feels a little over hyped. However, take the data, match it up with other data types and and in the wrong hands someone has a genuine (large) target list geared up to exploit vulnerabilities.
